9-Dart Delight in Blackpool - World Matchplay Day Six
Gary Anderson hit a magnificent perfect leg at the World Matchplay last night in his 19-17 win over Joe Cullen.
The Flying Scotsman bagged a £45,000 bonus by hitting the 9-darter in what was a special night in Blackpool. Anderson still had to survive 2 match darts from the Englishman as the match then went into a tie-break situation at 17-17. It was Anderson that then took the initiative from there, pinning double tops to win 19-17.
Serial giant-killer Jeffrey De Zwaan added another seed to his list of triumphs as he defeated Dave Chisnall 16-8, hitting an impressive 103.22 average. Both players were hitting high quality darts in the opening half of the match that saw the match level at 7-7. Surprisingly it was De Zwaan that found an extra gear in his first televised quarter-final, reeling off 9 out of 10 legs to secure the 16-8 win.
De Zwaan will now face Anderson in the Semis, whilst the other semi-final line-up will be decided by tonight’s matches.
