Chilton Tops BDDA Rankings with Harlequin Trophy Victory!
Winmau’s Ricky Chilton was crowned the Harlequin Open Singles Champion on Saturday 16th June in the Ranking event. Ricky defeated Pete Bramley 3-1 in the final, a victory that see’s him secure top spot in the latest Road to Winmau rankings table.
This was Chilton’s first title on the 2018 BDDA Road to Winmau tour and thanks to a Runner-up spot and two semi-final appearances earlier in the year he tops the table with 230 points. Pete Bramley now finds himself 58 points behind Ricky with Shane Harvard making up the top three on 142 points.
There was a fantastic participation and turnout for the event which included legendary darts super-fan Jackie Goethals from Belgium participate as well as Denmark’s Jesper Anderson.
Chilton met fellow Winmau team-mate Phil “The Buzz” Less in the semi-finals, edging the contest 3-1. The semi-final placing has done wonders for Phil’s rankings, as he now finds himself moved into the top 10, which just one event left on the Road to Winmau tour.
There was also separate standing classification and wheelchair classification tournaments held during the event.
In the wheelchair classification John Greensmith defeated Snowy Dyson 3-0 in the final to take the victory. Matt Doe picked up the trophy in the standing classification, defeating Graham Mitchell 3-2.
The final stop on the Road to Winmau Tour will be the BDDA Winmau Wolverhampton Open at the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Centre.
